Tout est normal
Class today was, let us say, difficult. At the end of one activity where we had to conjugate verbs in the present tense (easy, right? WRONG. Who the hell remembers present tense? That was like five years ago!), our profe asked us how many we had gotten wrong, "Trois, quatre?" she dit. Um... more like thirty? Oh well. It will get better soon, right?
Yesterday, I spent the evening watching the sun set on Annecy Lake and hanging out with some new found friends; Nika (also my roommate) of Russia, Martin, of Sweden, Yokarys, of Boston, US, and Merlin of... the Netherlands, I think? Anyway, it was very fun. Fortunately (or maybe unfortunately for my French acquisition, they all speak pretty decent English. I have also made friends with a girl, Jana (pronounced like Yana) from Serbia, and we do speak French together (mostly), since we both want to practice.
Things with my Host mom are... interesting. She has a lot of rules and is very direct, but repeats herself like ten times anytime she says anything. Of course, she speaks no English, so Nika and I have trouble understanding her, but we are getting by. Her 6 year old granddaughter is staying with her, and she is very cute. My room is wonderful (pictures soon), but the bathroom is beyond tiny (the shower is under the roof, so it slants so you kind-of just have to sit... it's better than camp showers, though!
Anyway, I'm about to go spend some time at the beach with my friends! Until next time!
