Mainly the reason I'm writing today, though, is to brag about the book of pictures some of my students gave me today. Lluna, Carla, Alba, and Lara (with the help of Rubén and Diego) presented me with this book of stuff they had drawn and colored for me.
The cover. "USA For: Katrina. I <3 Katrina. De: Carla, Lara, Rubén, Diego, Alba, and Lluna." And they all signed it. My favorite part is the flag that has been incorrectly colored in.
Again: "USA. From Alba. To Katrina. I <3 you Katrina. You are my best teacher of ingalnd in this grade." (So, of two English teachers in this grade, I'm her best... I guess that's a compliment?)
Lara drew this one: it says Colmillo Blanco which means White Fang, which is referencing a story we read in English about a wolf pup named White Fang.
These kids will latch onto anything I say. Tell them you love Halloween, and they never let it go! Carla drew this, in honor of my love of Halloween. It says "Than good, is hallowen" and no, I do not have any idea what that means.
Lluna drew this of us together, too; with matching purses!
Lara drew this one. It's my favorite! It depicts me walking my dog, a bird flying over head and simultaneously laying eggs, a flower (I think?) protecting me from the eggs, and my dog holding a frying pan to catch and fry the eggs in. Legit the best picture I've ever received.
Another from Lara, notice the fact that I am not only walking my dog but rollerskating in this one.
And finally, my close second favorite. Lluna drew this one: I LOVE YOU. I am a butterfly, in pink, still with blonde hair and shoes. Lluna is on the ground saying "I <3 English." There is a bird cage that is labeled "Egels and oter bird," and next to that is a boy holding a horse. Then, English School next to Lluna.
This is basically just reaffirming how much I love this job!!
Some other things that happened this week:
1. I will perpetually have The Water Cycle Song stuck in my head from playing it over and over in class while learning about the water cycle. You can join in my misery here: http://youtu.be/T05djitkEFI
2. I finally saw Monster's University (with Sam!) and I loved it, slash really missed Boo's presence.
3. The last couple of days I've been putting strawberries in my cereal and it's the best idea I've ever had.
4. It's been rainy the last few days but it's okay because I bought a rainbow umbrella!
Talk to y'all next week!
