The fact that I am going to France is suddenly becoming very apparent to me. I am going to France.
I am going to France.
It just doesn't seem real.
I received my EuRail pass and information today in the mail. Which means I have to start thinking about where I'm going to be traveling on the weekends in France, and how I'm going to get there. It is so much more complicated than getting on a train to wherever I want to go, whenever I want. Looking at the map given to me by the EuRail people, I realize how many different routes there are, and which ones might not even work with the pass I have. There are just so many places I want to visit in so little time! Annecy, where I will be studying during the week, is very close to the borders of Switzerland and Italy, in the very west of France. To get there, I'll be flying into Geneva, Switzerland and taking the train to Annecy.
There are so many places I want to go besides that, though! I want to see Paris and Nice, Lyon and Marseille. And what about other countries? Clearly, I won't have time for everything (or much of anything, really), but I'm going to try to get in as much as I can. That means planning, or at least narrowing down my list of options. So here goes.
